Introducing CPMIS

Comprehensive Project Management Information System is a complete end-to-end enterprise solution which provides a unified information system to store business data & information that empowers large-scale enterprises in today's global market place. 

CPMIS provides various functionalities that cover different business areas & needs, including project & portfolio management, business process automation via BPMS tools, document management, knowledge management, instance reporting functionalities & dashboards in a collaborative, online and instant access environment.

CPMIS supports both Farsi & English languages and localizations and has been created with governmental institutes and large private companies in mind, supporting different organizational roles such as executives and senior management, project management office, mid-level management, business analysts, technicians & business partners. 

Unified project & portfolio management

The project management module of CPMIS relies on standard project, plan & portfolio management tools and processes to provide the following functionalities:

  • Creation of projects for the enterprise individually for different business units and allowing the creation of project-subproject hierarchies for better information management
  • Creation & management of each project's work break down structure (WBS) including scheduling, tasks relationships and resource provisioning
  • Definition of project phases and milestones
  • Complete definition of project tasks, their interdependencies and various restrictions
  • Evaluation of project progress and individual tasks progress
  • Visualization of project information in different formats such as Gantt charts

Form Generation Engine

CPMIS provides a powerful form generation engine that allows business units to individually create their forms and business entities using a powerful web based graphical user interface. The module provides the following key functionalities:

  • Creation of different tabs, data fields and information lists for each form
  • The ability to track the changes made to a business form in time and version control for all entities
  • Notification using various media on changes made to forms
  • Support of different data field types including plain text, date, currency, drop-down menus, calculated fields, cross-reference fields and ...
  • Creation of calculated field using powerful real-time calculation engine
  • Custom validation for different data fields
  • Sharing created forms between business units
  • Fine-grain sorting & searching capabilities for created forms

 

Workflow Engine

The workflow engine module allows the automation of business processes using a simple web based user interface where apart from process steps and actions, roles that must participate in each step can be dynamically designated. Some key features of this module include:

  • Definition of workflows using process creation engine and rules engine
  • Integration with the form creation engine & document management engine to fully automate business needs
  • Definition of action centers for each individual user so that anyone knows at any time which steps in a business process is depending on them
  • Graphical representation and tracking of business processes
  • Fine-grained security settings
  • Creation of triggers based on actions taken in the processes so as to effect other module functionalities

 

Document Management Engine

Documents are some of the most valuable and important business assets that enterprises have and play a key part as deliverables in various projects. The document management engine provides a powerful application to manage documents and provide instant access to them. This module includes the following key features:

  • Uploading documents in various formats
  • Editing and viewing document meta data
  • Organizing documents into different hierarchies using folders
  • Linkage of documents to other system artifacts such as forms, processes, tasks, etc.
  • The ability to provide access links to documents to people outside the organization
  • Supporting GDTI document identifier standard and Dublin Core for document information
  • Searching document text and meta data

ّUnified Organizational Calendar

This module provides each workspace (business unit, project, ...) to manage its individual calendars and events, including functionality to manage business meetings and relevant data. Main functionalities include:

  • Individual calendars for the enterprise, projects, users, etc. with daily, weekly, monthly and yearly views
  • Definition & management of one-of and repeating meetings including meeting participants, agendas, ...
  • Management of key events in organizational timeline
  • Management of project milestones in unified calendar
  • The ability to export calendar artifacts in iCal format

Knowledge Management Tools

CPMIS provides these functionalities so as to better manage knowledge capture and transfer processes and also the ability the store lessons learned in various projects and enterprise initiatives in a central repository:

  • Creation of Wiki pages with full functionality associated with this technology
  • Ability to create knowledge management information entities and processes using the BMPS engine
  • Forums and chat groups for better dissemination of information and knowledge between users

Report Generator Engine

With the vast amount of data being stored in CPMIS instances, a report generation engine based on the Birt reporting technology is used so that various organizational reports and project dashboards can be provided to end users and various management roles. This engine supports the following key features:

  • Allows the creation of various reports on all data elements in CPMIS
  • Creation of top-level management reports
  • Graphical and tabular representation of report results
